Mangeao

Mangeao is a handsome broadleaf tree of northern New Zealand, with a rounded, leafy crown and smooth pale bark. Its glossy leaves and tough, springy timber made it a prized and useful tree in the warm forests where it grows.

Mangeao (Litsea calicaris) is a medium-sized evergreen tree endemic to New Zealand and belonging to the laurel family (Lauraceae). It is found in lowland forest of the northern North Island, from the far north down to about the central North Island, favouring warm, fertile sites. It forms a spreading, densely leafy crown of smooth, glossy, oval leaves that are paler underneath, and bears small greenish-yellow flowers followed by dark, olive-like fruits carried in little cups. Its pale, tough, and remarkably elastic timber was highly valued: Māori used the springy wood, and it was later sought for items needing strength and flexibility. A shapely, generous tree, mangeao is a characteristic component of northern broadleaf forest and one of New Zealand's several native members of the laurel family.

What is a stock flower essence?

A stock essence is the concentrated form of a single flower essence. It can be taken directly from the bottle or used to create a personalised blend.

First Light® stock essences are available as individual New Zealand native flower essences and combination essences, so you can choose and combine the essences to support how you are feeling or what you need help with.

How do I choose the right flower essence for me?

How many essences can I combine?

Up to eight essences from No 1 to No 184 can be combined in a single personalised blend. No 0 Black Orchid can be added to any blend as a ninth essence.

This allows you to select a combination of essences to support the different emotional, energetic or personal growth needs.

Do flower essences contain alcohol?

Yes, generally flower essences contain a small amount of brandy, ethanol or grape as a natural preservative. To reduce the alcohol taste, add your drops to water.

How long does it take to notice a difference with flower essences?

It depends on the essence and the person. With an essence like Crisis Support for emergency or emotional first aid situations some people notice a difference within 15 to 20 minutes. Most people feel a shift within a few days. In general it takes about one month for changes to occur, and another month to integrate them.
